Leonard Albert Kravitz is a music producer, television personality, and skilled artist. Throughout his career, Lenny has experimented with different genres like blues, soul (R&B), and Jazz reggae.
Presently, Kravitz holds the record for most consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. He won his first award in 1999 and held on to the title for three straight years. Other than that, Kravitz also ranked no 93 on VH!’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

Lenny’s Parents, Roxie Roker and Sy Kravitz, met in New York in the early 60s. They got married in 1963 and had their first and the only kid on May 26th, 1964. They stayed married for over 20 years until they got divorced in 1985.

Roxie Albertha Roker was an actress and news anchor who played Helen Willis on the CBC sitcom, The Jeffersons. Roxie was originally from Georgia but grew up in Brooklyn. She was also the grandmother of Zoe Kravit, the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet.
Roxie hailed from an African American community with Bahamian roots. She was also an advocate for children and was constantly involved with community work around the Los Angeles area. Sadly, she died at the age of 66 after a long struggle with breast cancer.

Sy (Seymour) Kravitz was a former US military officer and a film producer for NBC. On December 4th, 1924, he was born and grew up alongside Leonard Harold.
Seymour and his brother served in the Second World War and the Korean war as Green Berets. Sadly, his brother died during the war.
Sy was also the ex-partner of Roxie Albertha Roker. Before this, Seymour was previously married to Erika in 1948 and had two children, Laurine and Tedi Kravits.
The two got divorced in 1955. Seymour was also known as the president of the Northeast Chapter of the society of singers. Additionally, he made several appearances on tv projects like the 2010 documentary Sid Bernstein Present.
Seymour died on October 29th, 2005, from leukemia. His son honored him two days later at Mohegan Sun Casino with the song, Let Love Rule.

There aren’t a lot of facts available regarding Lenny’s older stepsiblings. All we know is that they were born during his dad’s relationship with Erika.
